Belcamp to Shellybank 220KV Trenching and Ducting Contract – Phase 3
1400m of 220KV ESB Ducting

• Niaron were Main Contractor & PSCS under the ESB trenching and ducting framework and performed the role of PSCS. The project involved the installation of 1400m of 220Kv ducting through ALSAA playing fields, Public Roads under the control of Fingal County council and the outer grounds of Finglas Station owned by ESB.
• The project involved substantial deep excavations to cross below numerous existing high voltage circuits requiring temporary work support to facilitate the installation of the new ducting. Ducting was laid under existing playing fields and these lands were reinstated to playing field standards. The project also consisted of lane closures and stop/go systems.
• Three precast joint bays were installed in challenging locations with lifting height restrictions imposed by DAA and mobile cranes and crane pads required in other areas to facilitate the lifting temporary works. Duct proving of the circuits was completed by our own cable pulling / duct proving crew.
• All materials for the works were supplied by Niaron and the relevant quality checks carried out on all ducting deliveries.
